Generous donors make a huge difference at BU—as we see every year on Giving Tuesday. This annual global day of giving back, which takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, always brings an outpouring of support from loyal Terriers.
This year’s Giving Tuesday was no different. On November 28, 1,490 donors gave a total of $296,038 to a host of causes. The fund for BU Hillel was the top-performing fund, with $44,803 coming from 314 donors. Among schools and colleges, CAS topped the list: 105 donors gave a total of $15,126.
The main focus for Giving Tuesday 2023 was support for students, which came through a variety of funds—particularly four highlighted ones. Scholarships, naturally, topped that list: The General Scholarship Fund took in $16,174, while the newly established BU Alumni Association Fund garnered $3,518.
Because scholarships do not address all of the financial needs that students hope to cover during their BU experience, our donors responded by supporting funds like the Community Service Center and Study Abroad. Supporting these funds enhances students’ ability to enrich their overall experience at BU.
It’s worth noting that 100 percent of every gift goes to the cause the donor chooses to support. And on Giving Tuesday, as on every day, there are always hundreds of funds to choose from. No matter where you may choose to give, BU is always grateful for your support.
