Boston University Overnight

The Boston University Overnight program provides prospective high school seniors with an opportunity to experience the academic, social, and multicultural community at Boston University.

Held in conjunction with Boston University’s Fall Open House, the Overnight program allows participants to learn more about the undergraduate admissions process and explore BU’s schools and colleges while experiencing campus life firsthand. Students will stay overnight in a residence hall, connect with current BU students, and engage with a variety of student organizations and campus resources.

Program Dates: Thursday, October 22 – Friday, October 23, 2026

Eligibility

The Boston University Overnight program is designed with a particular focus on first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and students affiliated with school districts or community-based organizations committed to college access and student success. That said, any current high school senior in the US who is interested in learning more about the Boston University community is welcome and encouraged to apply. Most importantly, we seek to invite high-achieving students who are interested in learning about the BU community.

Please note that admission to the Boston University Overnight program is competitive. We seek students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to academics and leadership.

Transportation

Boston University provides charter bus transportation from designated departure locations in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania to help students who may not otherwise be able to travel to campus. Students traveling from outside these areas, or those not using the charter bus, are responsible for arranging their own transportation to campus. Charter bus transportation is subject to availability.

Housing & Meals

All housing and meals for the duration of the program will be covered by Boston University. Students will stay in a residence hall with a current Boston University student host and are asked to bring a sleeping bag, or comparable bedding like a comforter or blankets, for their stay in the dorm room.

Application Deadline

The application deadline is Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (ET). All applicants will be notified of their application status by email in early October. Students selected to participate will receive additional program details, including the schedule, housing information, and next steps.
