Karra Gives Seminar Talk at BU Institute of Economic Development

Mahesh Karra, Assistant Professor of Global Development Policy at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, gave a seminar talk at the Boston University Institute of Economic Development (IED) on September 23, 2019.

Karra’s talk was entitled “The Causal Effect of Improved Access to Family Planning: Evidence from a Field Experiment in Urban Malawi,” in which he presented preliminary results from his experiment and discussed the policy and programmatic implications of the results.

Karra’s academic and research interests are broadly in development economics, health economics, quantitative methods, and applied demography. His research utilizes experimental and non-experimental methods to investigate the relationships between population, health, and economic development in low- and middle-income countries.
