A Minor in Biomedical Engineering is earned through completion of 20 credits. ENG BE 209 is a required course. The remaining 16 credits are to be selected from among ENG BE courses at the 400-level and 500-level, including ENG EK 424. ENG BE 700 level courses may also be used by petition.
No more than 8 credits of the required 20 can be used to satisfy the student’s major degree program requirements.
Students are expected to obtain the necessary background (pre-requisites or equivalents) to complete their chosen minor program.
Students must have a declared major on record in order to apply for the Minor in Biomedical Engineering.
The grade point average (GPA) of the courses (20 credits) used for the minor must be 2.0 or greater for the minor to be awarded.
Applications for the Minor in Biomedical Engineering must be approved by the Associate Chair of Undergraduate Programs of the Biomedical Engineering Department.
Students planning to pursue a minor in Biomedical Engineering should apply as early as possible to facilitate course planning, and in no case later than October 1 of the senior year.
Please note: The following courses overlap too much for credit to be given for more than one course from each list (1-7) below. Students are expected to complete the course appropriate to their major.
