Program Features
Master Inquiry-Based Physics Teaching
Designed for qualified post-baccalaureate students who are interested in receiving initial licensure in physics, the certificate in teaching physics will expand your pedagogical knowledge, skill in planning effective curriculum, and ability to promote inquiry and scientific thinking. The 26-credit program can be completed on either a part- or full-time basis.
Licensure Pathway
Students who complete the graduate certificate in physics education can receive an endorsement for Massachusetts initial teaching licensure in Physics, grades 8–12, including preparation for DESE requirements and MTEL examinations.
Gain Meaningful Field Experience
A structured pre-practicum and practicum will allow you to apply what you learn in real educational settings. Working alongside experienced educators, you’ll build confidence, refine your teaching skills, and graduate prepared to lead your own secondary physics classroom.
