Graduate Student Awards & Funding

BU Wheelock provides strong support for graduate student research through a variety of funding opportunities. Graduate students can apply for several types of awards to advance their academic and professional goals. These resources help students conduct impactful research and contribute meaningfully to the field of education.

Awards

Graduate Research & Scholarship Award (GRASA)
Supports individual or collaborative graduate student research that is likely to be publishable.


Dr. Ann S. Ferren Research Fund in Education
Supports the research efforts of one doctoral student who is pursuing a degree in education, with the goal of producing a joint scholarly article or conference presentation under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

Funding

Graduate Student Reimbursement Form
Allows graduate students to seek reimbursement for travel expenses related to attending educational research conferences.


Graduate Travel & Research Funding
Funding support for master’s and doctoral students who are presenting or attending a conference or event. Approval must be requested before expenses are incurred, and retroactive applications will not be accepted.


Additional Dissertation Funds for Doctoral Students
Supports expenses directly related to dissertation research.


Student Support Fund
Available to all BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development students who find themselves in need of additional, one-time funding to cover the cost of items that are essential to their academic progress at BU and to their well-being, as well as support during emergencies.
