What to Donate

The BU Food Pantry appreciates all food donations. We depend on the support of our community to provide food resources to students facing episodic food insecurity. Here’s a few things to keep in mind when donating at an event such as Check Hunger, Goodwill Not Landfill, Beans for Bean, or to your department/group food drive:

  • All donated food should be new, unopened, and before its “best by” date.
  • While we can accept items that are not on our key stock list, we are not able to accept perishable items like meat, dairy, or produce. 
  • Please avoid family size or bulk size items. One pound bags of rice and lentils are given to students.
  • Encourage donors to your food drive to donate key stock items listed below.
