Happy Terrier Walk Brings Students Together
This Fall, Student Wellbeing and the BU Fitness and Recreation Center are delighted to support a student-run initiative designed to promote social, physical, environmental, and emotional wellbeing – Happy Terrier Walk!
When Yael Rudelman (CAS ’26) came to Student Wellbeing with an idea, we were excited to make it come to life! Led by Sonya Nguyen (SPH ’24), Graduate Assistant for Programming, Happy Terrier Walk invites current students to meet on Marsh Plaza at appointed times to enjoy a leisurely walk on the Esplanade. Each walk is intended to help students meet new people, keep moving, appreciate the beautiful scenery adjacent to our campus and feel the stress-reducing effects of going on a walk with a friend.
Walks will run on an almost weekly basis on Friday evenings from 5 – 6 pm (see below schedule).
To stay informed, sign-up for our Happy Terrier Walk roster and you will receive updates with changes to walk locations and other important information.

Walking & Wellbeing
Did you know that walking with others supports many dimensions of your wellbeing? Spending time outside provides the opportunity to appreciate the relationship between ourselves and the environment. By participating in a shared interest with others, you foster a sense of belonging, a core component to social wellbeing. Engaging in physical activity such as walking can boost your mood and reduce stress, as well as increase cardiovascular health, strengthen bones and boost muscle power and endurance.
