New Unique Entity Identifiers (UEI) for Charles River Campus and Medical Campus

By April of 2022, the federal government will stop using the DUN and Bradstreet (D&B) Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number to uniquely identify entities. The transition from DUNS to the new Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) is ongoing by federal agencies up through April 2022, with some agencies transitioning sooner – for example NIH, AHRQ and FDA will transition for application due dates on or after January 25, 2022 to align with their standard application and review cycles.  Please be sure to look for the new UEI  requirement in all proposal guidance.

The System for Award Management (SAM) will become the central repository for the new UEI that will be incorporated into an institution’s SAM registration.  The UEIs noted below and on our Institutional Numbers & Rates page have already been assigned for Boston University’s Charles River Campus and Medical Campus and should be used as requested in Sponsor applications.
