Objectives
The Harvey Prize rewards excellence by recognizing breakthroughs in science and technology. The monetary Prize is a banner of recognition for people who have truly contributed to the progress of humanity. Serving as stimulus, the award urges scientists and scholars forward to further accomplishment.
Prospective candidates for the Harvey Prize must be outstanding personalities in one of the fields of human endeavor listed under eligibility. They should be persons whose achievements have served as a source of inspiration to many others.
Funding Information
$75,000 award made to each winner.
Each Harvey Prize winner will be invited to appear in person at the Technion — Israel Institute of Technology to receive the prize and spend time at the Institute teaching their subject.
Eligibility
Nominations can be for individuals or teams of up to 3 people. Self-nominations are not permitted. Only eligible nominators, including President Gilliam, Vice Presidents, and Deans, may submit nominations to the Harvey Prize.
Wolf or Nobel Prize recipients are not eligible for the Harvey Prize unless the work cited in the nomination is new/different work.
Internal Selection
This is not a limited opportunity. However, eligible nominators at BU have been invited to submit nominations to this internal call.
Invited nominators should submit the following materials in their final form via InfoReady Review by: 3/1/2026
- Summary of the Candidate’s Achievements (max 2 pages) describing the achievement for which they are being nominated as well as its importance and impact of their work to science and humanity
- List of nominee’s publications
- Information for 3-5 potential referees
- Complete, current CV for the nominee
The Office of Research will compile the nomination materials submitted and connect nominators with the President’s Office by 3/4/2026. The nominators are expected to work with the President’s Office to finalize and submit the nomination form by 3/15/2026.
