Internal Prior Approval Request (IPAR) Form Updates

Our Internal Prior Approval Request (IPAR) Form has been updated!

Sponsored Programs has made a series of changes to the IPAR form to better capture outgoing subaward actions that may be impacted by these account changes. These updates will help prevent common issues related to outgoing subaward actions while giving the Pre-Award and Award Maintenance teams the most accurate information possible.

Summary of Changes

  • Addition of three identical fields titled “Subrecipient Name / FRN #” to the No Cost Extension (NCE) section. Please use these fields to list any subaward(s) that need to be extended with the NCE. If there are more than three subawards attached to your award action, please use the comment box to list the names and FRN # for each additional subaward.
  • The check box for subaward extensions for NCE actions has been moved directly above the new “Subrecipient Name / FRN #” fields. The check box was updated to show an option of selection yes, no, or N/A.
  • Addition of field titled “Subrecipient Name(s) / FRN #(s) Affected by Rebudget” to the Rebudget section. Please use this field to list any subaward(s) that are impacted by the rebudget action.
  • Relocation of the “If Rebudget requires sponsor approval, work with your Pre-Award Officer to submit request to sponsor” field to be directly underneath the new subaward field.
  • Relocation of the Signatures section to a new, second page to accommodate for the new fields.

These changes are effective immediately. Please use the new IPAR form for all your Advance Account, No Cost Extension, and Rebudget needs. We hope you find these updates useful!
