Find Funding for Biomedical Research: Meet Health Resources in Action (2023)
Health Resources in Action (HRiA) is a nonprofit organization in Boston that manages several award programs for faculty and postdocs to advance public health and medical research.
Health Resources in Action will present to Boston University faculty members and postdocs about the following programs:
- The Charles A. King Trust Postdoctoral Basic/Preclinical Science Award supports research that will increase our understanding of the underlying biological processes relevant to human health and disease. Awards are up to $215,000 over two years.
- The Charles A. King Trust Postdoctoral Clinical and Implementation Research Award supports science that will move findings from basic research towards clinical application. Awards are up to $215,000 over two years.
- The Charles H. Hood Foundation Child Health Research Award supports newly independent faculty working on hybothesis-driven clinical, basic science, public health, health services research, and epidemiology projects on child health. Awards are $200,000 over two years.
- The Charles H. Hood Foundation Major Grant Award supports research that will have significant outcome on child health. Awards are $450,000 over two years.
- The Deborah Munroe Noonan Memorial Research Fund supports improvements in the quality of life for children with disabilities. Awards are $160,000 over two years.
- The Edward N. and Della L. Thome Memorial Foundation Award for Age-Related Macular Degeneration Research supports translational research that will lead to improved therapies for individuals suffering from age-related macular degeneration. Awards are $500,000 over two years.
- The Edward N. and Della L. Thome Memorial Foundation Award for Alzheimer’s Disease Drug Discovery Research supports innovative drug discovery research that will lead to improved therapies for individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Awards are $500,000 over two years.
Kimberly Lezak, PhD, Managing Director of Biomedical Research Grantmaking, and Charlene Mancusi, Director of the Charles H. Hood Foundation, will present and lead a Q&A session. View event.
