Labor Distribution Reports – New “Wage Type PAR Eligible” Free Characteristic

We are happy to announce the creation of a new Free Characteristic for three Business Warehouse Payroll (Distributed)/Labor Distributions Reports for effort coordinators and department administrators.  The new Free Characteristic is titled Wage Type PAR Eligible and can be used with the following reports:

  • Labor Distributions: Payroll Inquiry by Distribution (PA12)
  • Labor Distributions: Payroll Inquiry by Employee (PA15)
  • Labor Distributions: Funds Center Report

Bringing in this new Free Characteristic will help determine if wage types are PAR Eligible or not and will also help simplify the review of PAR percentages.*

* Wage Type 9D20, often deemed non-PAR eligible, is listed as PAR eligible because there are instances when it is both included in effort and when it is not.

Helpful Tips
  • Run the Labor Distribution Report for the PAR Period in question using the Dates listed on the PARPersonnel Activity Report You can find details about Per...
  • Run individually by person, if not, you have to bring in totals at Employee Level
  • Use the new saved view: PA15_PAR_DISTRIBUTED
    • Please note that when you first run this View, you will most likely get an error message so click “Variable Screen” to change the BU ID of the individual you are running, then re-save the View to a new name of your choosing
    • Please note that the new Wage Type has been brought into the Report Table and is filtered to remove those Wage Types that are NOT PAR Eligible

When using this new Free Characteristic, if something looks off, please reach out to your Sponsored Programs Post Award Research Administrator so that we can review, resolve, and update our Helpful Tips.
