Community-Engaged Work with Boston Public Schools (2022)
Are you interested in working with Boston youth or Boston Public Schools (BPS)? In this virtual workshop, a panel of BU faculty will share stories from their research and practice with BPS students, teachers, and staff, as well as advice and reflections on engaging communities with consistency and building trust in this education-based context.
The panelists will provide steps they have taken to reconceptualize the transactional relationship of research, and address questions to include:
- What are some of the challenges and benefits of engaging with BPS?
- At what point do you begin to engage BPS?
- How can we think about community engagement?
- How can we seed lasting and meaningful partnerships rooted in mutuality?
