Award Nomination Opportunity: King Faisal Prize in Science or Medicine

OBJECTIVES:

Boston University has been invited to submit names for the King Faisal Prize in Science in the field of Chemistry and for King Faisal Prize in Medicine on the topic of Pandemics and vaccine development for the Year 2023.

Launched by the King Faisal Foundation (KFF) and granted for the first time in 1979, the King Faisal Prize (KFP) recognizes the outstanding works of individuals and institutions in five major categories: Service to IslamIslamic StudiesArabic Language and LiteratureMedicine, and Science. KFP winners are evaluated only based on merit and their works are meticulously examined by specialized selection committees. The strict selection procedure meets international standards, and many of the laureates who have been awarded the prize went on to receive other prestigious prizes.

FUNDING INFORMATION: ~$200,000 prize

INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS:

Interested investigators should submit the following materials via InfoReady Review by DATE: 12/3/2021

  • Questions outlined in InfoReady Review application;
  • A brief statement (up to two pages) by the candidate describing their scientific achievements that highlights notable work, publications, and achievements in the past two to three years;
  • Up-to-date CV or biosketch.

A faculty committee drawn from both campuses will review internal proposals and select nominees.
