Reminder to include COVID-19 impacts/disruptions to Sponsors in progress reports

NIH has issued clear guidance that COVID-19 impacts and disruptions to their funded projects should be reported in your next progress report (RPPR) submission. This is covered in detail in NIH’s COVID-19 FAQs (see Section IV).

While other sponsors have not necessarily issued clear guidance as NIH, we believe this is a best practice to follow across all funders, federal and non-federal.  Your required progress reports are an opportunity to document the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic to sponsors and open up the line of communication should future accommodations be necessary due to the disruption in work, such as potential no-cost extensions or requests for supplemental funding should they become available.

Please remember submitting accurate and on-time progress reports is an obligation we have as recipients of sponsored research.   If you are in the last year of your award and in a position to know you will need a NCE please coordinate with your SP RA.

Please reach out to your Sponsored Programs RAResearch Administrator A Sponsored Programs team member w... should you have any questions regarding non-industry funded programs or Industry Engagement regarding industry sponsored programs.
