Information Security Shredding Event

  • Starts: 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 7, 2014
  • Ends: 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2014
BU Information Security is sponsoring a free shredding event during Information Security Awareness Week! As part of the 4th Annual Information Security Awareness Week, BU Information Security will be bringing a shredding truck to locations around BU. Information Security personnel will be on hand to accept custody of your sensitive documents and ensure they are immediately shredded. If you have any paper containing sensitive information, CDs or old floppy disks that you would like to have destroyed, bring them to us at these locations: • Tuesday, 10/7 from 9-12, in the Granby St. Parking Lot (CRC East: 665 Commonwealth Ave), we will be shredding any documents and crushing any old hard drives you bring to us. This way you can be sure that any sensitive data that may be on them has been properly destroyed • Wednesday, 10/8 from 11-1, in front of the Talbot Building (BUMC: 711 Albany Street), we will be shredding any documents you bring to us. IT personnel from BUMC will also be on hand to help you properly get rid of old computer hard drives, or even entire computers or laptops. • Thursday, 10/9 from 9-12, in the parking lot behind Agganis Arena (CRC West: 925 Commonwealth Ave), we will be shredding any documents you bring to us. To continue the University's efforts in diverting waste from landfills and incinerators, sustainability@BU will participate at the Charles River Campus shred events to collect office electronics, batteries, and ink/toner cartridges for recycling.
