CHIPS at BU – Integrated System Security

Integrated System Security

What we do: We are actively engaged in a variety of system security projects, focusing on enhancing the safety, reliability, and efficiency of modern computing systems. Key initiatives include hardware trojan detection, hardware side-channel analysis, privacy-preserving computing, automated malware analysis, medical device security, HPC security, and networking security.

Why it matters: System security research is critical in today’s digital world, where cyber threats are constantly evolving. As technology becomes more integrated into everyday life—powering everything from financial transactions to healthcare systems—securing these systems against vulnerabilities is essential. Research in system security helps detect and mitigate cyber risks, protect sensitive data, and ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure.
