Building robotics for surgery.
Construction began on a $9 million space for students to create innovative robotics and autonomous systems, and learn the skills to be leaders in the robotics industry.
Boston University won a competitive award and recognition as a top robotics school in the state. The prize money is being used to build RASTIC.
“We recognize the critical need to build cutting-edge facilities informed by our deep partnership with industry. Doing so ensures that our graduates have the skills and experiences they need to thrive.”
- Dean Kenneth Lutchen
The center is specifically designed for masters-level robotics programs, and to complement undergraduate capstone courses and research-oriented labs, like the Robotics Laboratory.
RASTIC will magnify opportunities to advance technologies in high-demand areas, including sustainable agricultural systems, human-robot interactions and so much more.
