ENG Senior Awards Information
The College of Engineering Senior Awards recognize graduating seniors for outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and spirit during their time at BU. Many come with cash prizes!
If you’re a graduating senior and want to apply for a senior award you can do so directly via the application form – linked below -which will be available from March 13th through 27th.
You also have the option of nominating a senior who you feel deserves to be recognized through one of these awards. You may nominate a fellow student from March 13th through 27th by emailing engineer@bu.edu; please include the name of the award and the student’s name. Students will be informed that they have been nominated but the nominator’s name will be kept anonymous.

Important Dates for 2025
- March 13, 2025 – Application form opens; any engineering senior may apply for an award or nominate a fellow senior by emailing engineer@bu.edu
- March 27, 2025 – Application form closes; students can no longer be nominated.
- April 3, 2025 – Professor recommendation materials are due.
- Award recipients will be notified in late April.
Student Leader Alumni Award
Presented to seniors who have made outstanding contributions to the College and University through their involvement in activities and organizations.
Student Leader Essay: Please discuss how your service to Boston University, the College of Engineering and the community, as well as your academic record, have distinguished you as a leader among your peers. Please also describe how you plan to remain involved in the College of Engineering and Boston University after you graduate.
Earle and Mildred Bailey Memorial Award
Presented to the graduating senior in the College of Engineering to recognize outstanding scholarship and service to the College.
Bailey Essay: Please describe how your participation and leadership in College of Engineering organizations and events, as well as your academic record, have had a significant impact on your peers and the College.
Anita Cuadrado Memorial Award
Presented to one or more undergraduate students within the College of Engineering who best exemplify Anita’s generous spirit, commitment to the College and Boston University, and dedication to helping undergraduates.
Cuadrado Essay: Please describe how the activities you have participated in while at Boston University are illustrative of your school spirit and dedication. Include in your essay your motivations and your impression of how these activities have benefited you and others. How will your contributions have a lasting impact on the College of Engineering and Boston University?
Ging S. Lee Community Service Award
In honor of Ging S. Lee, a 1970 graduate of the College, this award is presented to one or more seniors at the College of engineering who have made outstanding contributions in the area of community service.
Lee Essay: Please describe how the activities you have participated in while at Boston University are illustrative of your dedication to community service. Include in your essay your motivations and your impression of how these activities have benefited you and others.
