Advice: Don’t be scared of the learning curve when you get to college, you are going to be trying to adapt to so many new things simultaneously, no one expects you to master any of it in one week. You will find your place in this school and will be successful in your own time.

What is one piece of advice you have for new students? Be patient with yourself! Coming to college presents a completely different set of norms, and you won’t fully understand them until you spend time here. Don’t let trivial grades define who you are, only you are in control of that.

One piece of advice: The first year of Engineering is going to be tough, but remember – you’re not alone. A lot of students feel the same way. And yes, you are smart enough to be here; one bad grade doesn’t define you. Imposter syndrome is real, but if you got into engineering, you can finish it. Join clubs, make friends, and focus on balance. Time management is key. And don’t pull all-nighters before exams – they’re rarely worth it. You’ve got this.

What is one piece of advice you have for new students?: Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There’s so many resources at BU: the advising office, the career center, ENG tutoring, office hours, etc. Being an engineer is hard so asking for help is a perfectly normal thing to do!
