Infectious, inflammatory, and immune system disorders are among the most urgent challenges in global health. We need concreate data about the next disease outbreak, but we also need people to trust that data. That’s why BU scientists created an open-source tracker to monitor diseases—but they also formed a team to address trust in public health communication. Our researchers are engaging in convergent research like this that spans molecular science, engineering, public health, communication, and data-driven modeling to help us better understand and respond to infectious and immune-mediated disease. Through our research efforts, we will strengthen responses to emerging and ongoing health threats.
