Digital and human don’t have to be contradictory terms. BU’s Humanizing the Digital Initiative looks at current tech infrastructure through a humanities lens, creating new space for exploring what humans need and want. Pushing the boundaries of human experience requires convergent approaches that connect the humanities, arts, social sciences, and emerging technologies. At BU, our scholars are advancing research that unites culture, technology, history, identity, and human well-being, investigating how people create meaning, preserve cultural memory, respond to social change, and build community.
