What does the Department of Classical Studies offer?
Our Department offers courses under four main areas of study:
- Classical Civilization – history, literature, and culture courses taught in translation
- Ancient Greek* – introductory courses to advanced seminars with a focus on reading and analyzing ancient Greek texts
- Latin* – introductory courses to advanced seminars with a focus on grammar and reading Latin texts
- Modern Greek* – language, literature, and culture courses with offerings in both English and Modern Greek
* Courses in Ancient Greek, Latin, and Modern Greek can fulfill the CAS Language Requirement.
