Kate DeForest
Assistant Dean, Development & Alumni Relations
Kate DeForest has worked in the development field for nearly 30 years and currently serves as Senior Director of School Development for the College of General Studies and School of Hospitality Administration. In her role, Kate is responsible for all strategic fundraising efforts at CGS and works closely with Dean Natalie McKnight on building relationships with CGS graduates and parents across the country.
She has been with Boston University since 2011, previously serving as Director of Advancement at Boston University School of Medicine before moving over to the Charles River Campus in 2017. Before her tenure at BU, Kate worked in both education and healthcare fundraising at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Latin School Association, University at Buffalo, and SUNY Geneseo. She also serves as the Vice President on the Gifford Cat Shelter Board of Directors.
Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in English from SUNY College at Geneseo and serves as a regional volunteer mentoring students and recent graduates.
