Jordan Rosenburg

Academic Advisor

I have been working in higher education for over five years now and I love it. It’s not what I thought I would be doing when I first began my college journey, but I am so glad that this is where I ended up. I grew up just twenty minutes south of Boston in Weymouth, but decided I wanted to go to school in a college town and get out of state for a bit. During my time at Plymouth State University, I held many roles. As a student, I was the president of the communication honors society, Lamda Pi Eta, as well as the social media rep/vice president of the university film club. I started out in the marketing office at PSU, and after I graduated, I was promoted to Assistant Director of Annual Giving for the advancement team. I got to run our student calling program, and this is where I realized I my passion was helping students. I had such a wonderful college experience and I wanted to help other students have a positive experience as well. When as position in the advising office at PSU opened up, I jumped at the chance. I spent the next four years as an academic and career advisor for undergraduate students. I’ve worked with students across all disciplines. I love the one-on-one connections I make with students. I am so excited to be at BU and to work with CGS students.

After completing my master’s in education, I was able to become a teaching lecturer at PSU in addition to my advising role. I created a general education course that taught students about how to create video blogs, and I was able to teach that as well as some courses in PSU’s summer bridge program and some upper-level Communication and Media Studies film courses. I like getting to work with them both inside and outside the classroom.

When I’m not at work, you can usually find me at a Harry Styles concert, or at any other artist’s concert that I love. Getting to travel with the friends I made because of the music we listen to is one of my favorite things in the world. Traveling in general to new cities and places is a major hobby of mine. I also love getting to sit at home and read/watch TV while hanging out with my labradoodle Henry. When I have more spare time, I’m usually writing and posting fiction stories to my Patreon, filming a reaction video for YouTube, or recording an episode of the podcast my best friend and I have together.
