An interdisciplinary summer institute in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park
July 20 – 22, 2012
In 2012, the College of General Studies hosted Baseball: An Interdisciplinary Summer Institute, in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox and Babe Ruth. The weekend included lectures and discussions on Red Sox history, baseball statistics, baseball film and baseball as religion, plus a tour of the former Braves Field where the Red Sox played World Series games in 1915 and 1916, a tour of Fenway Park, and a Red Sox/Blue Jays baseball game.
