MonitorHQ Fall 2026 Internship Program
The Program
MonitorHQ, a high-growth startup backed by the management firm Excellence in Innovation (https://www.excelininnovation.com/), is offering a paid, remote Fall Internship Program for Boston University College of General Studies current sophomores.
This 14-week, project-driven program (September 8–December 10, 2026) provides hands-on experience building portfolio-ready work. Interns will also have the exciting opportunity to assist MonitorHQ’s team in positioning potential vendors for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games—a high-impact project that will expose students to real business decision-making.
Excellence in Innovation is a product and technology incubator that develops digital solutions and supports early-stage ventures—including MonitorHQ—to bring market-ready tools and services to customers globally. The firm also supports social change leaders in major cities across the United States in philanthropy, government and the non-profit sector broadly.
Program Details
- Commitment: 10 hours per week (remote)
- Schedule dependent on track (see below)
- Duration: September 8–December 10, 2026 (14 weeks)
- Compensation: $2,000 paid in weekly installments through BU’s Student Employment
- Structure: weekly cohort meeting, regular mentorship, midpoint review, and a final presentation on December 10, 2026 for MonitorHQ
- Outcomes: portfolio-ready work, a MonitorHQ completion certificate, and potential professional references or LinkedIn recommendations for strong performers
- Conversion opportunity: top-performing interns may be offered extended roles
Available Tracks
- Systems & Operations Intern
- Must be available for Team Meetings:
- Tuesdays 9:00–10:00 AM PST/ 12:00–1:00 PM EST.
- Fridays 11:00 AM–12:00 PM PST/ 2:00–3:00 PM EST.
- Some overlap with the following schedule is also required:
- M/T/W: 12:00–1:00 PM PDT/ 3:00–6:00 PM EST
- F: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM PDT/ 1:00–6:00 PM EST
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent written communication and documentation
- Comfortable learning new software independently
- Experience with Google Workspace
- Familiarity with HubSpot
- Interest in AI, automation, and business systems
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Must be available for Team Meetings:
- Marketing & Communications Intern
- This position requires a high level of autonomy and agency.
- Must be available for Team Meetings:
- Tuesdays 9:00–10:00 AM PST/ 12:00–1:00 PM EST.
- Fridays 11:00 AM–12:00 PM PST/ 2:00–3:00 PM EST.
- Business operations are Monday – Friday 8 AM–6 PM PST / 11 AM–9 PM EST Monday–Friday with client and management needs as-directed.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Social Media: Will own strategy and execution of key social media channels. Must be able to manage on their own while consulting the Administrative Team. Proficiency in visual and video tools for creating social media posts needed.
- Design/Creative: Able to execute communications and social media assets on brand. This includes graphic design, as well as video and photo editing.
- Brand & Communications Strategy: Able to analyse and create strategic documents around marketing, communications and business development to differentiate MonitorHQ from competitors and better serve clients.
- Business Development Intern
- This position requires a high level of autonomy and agency.
- Must be available for Team Meetings:

- Fridays 11:00 AM–12:00 PM PST/ 2:00–3:00 PM EST.

- Preferred Qualifications:
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Conduct thorough research on emerging competitors, pricing models, and market positioning.
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify, target, and build structured lists of high-potential client accounts, potential partners, and key decision-makers.
- Outreach Strategy & Playbooks: Draft compelling cold email sequences, social outreach playbooks, and pitch decks for new market segments.
- Independent Execution & Synthesis: Turn high-level prompts into polished, executive-ready presentations, data models, and strategic briefs with minimal guidance.
Who Should Apply
Current CGS sophomores with strong communication and organization skills. Must be able to take initiative and deliver high quality work under minimal supervision.
