Pre-Law

If you are planning a career in the field of law or simply exploring that option, we strongly encourage you to meet with a pre-law advisor in the Pre-Professional Advising Office. The office also provides information on law-related courses offered at Boston University, internship opportunities, and the law school admissions process.

Boston University does not offer a pre-law major, but rather we encourage you to choose classes based on your interests and ability. Relevant skills include writing and oral communication and knowledge of current political and social issues.

For more information, visit the Pre-Professional Advising: Prelaw website.

Pre-Health

If you aspire to enter a career in dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant, podiatry, optometry, veterinary medicine, or other health-related fields, pre-health advisors are available to provide comprehensive guidance to current undergraduate students and alumni from any undergraduate program at the University.

Through individualized advising appointments and a full slate of meetings and workshops, pre-health advisors can assist you with exploring your professional goals, planning your recommended pre-health curriculum to satisfy health profession schools’ admission requirements, and preparing a competitive portfolio for the application process.

For more information, visit the Pre-Professional Advising: Pre-health website.
