  1. Love the perspectives that Dr. Frankel and Dr. Forzani share about the complexities (societal and pedagogical) about learning to read. We are lucky to have them at BU and BU Wheelock.

  2. And don’t forget the READS programs (read to a dog) at some of our public libraries. My two retrievers have participated in these programs for years, and we have seen them really make a difference in our young reader’s confidence to read out loud (at least to a dog!) as well as try and read new texts that may be a bit on the challenging side.

  3. Thanks to the experts for these great tips on how to help kids to improve their reading and literacy skills. I fully agree that parents play an important role in it. Talking to your kids is an excellent everyday strategy to help your kid’s vocabulary develop!
