What is your favorite piece of BU history?
My favorite piece of BU history is the statue of doves in front of Marsh Chapel! I learned about it in my tour before choosing BU as my first choice. The statue of doves is in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. (one of the graduates of Boston University) and rumor says that when world peace is achieved, the 50 iron doves come alive and become free!
Why did you choose to be involved in SAA?
I chose to be involved in SAA because of its mission. I want to help bridge the gap between students and alumni so that students can easily find BU alumni in the career they want to pursue and for both sides to learn from one another. When I was a freshman not knowing what career to pursue, I would have loved to learn how to network and connect with alumni who could have been in the same place as me and help me learn about what it is like to work in their job and how to get to where they are today. I hope to bridge the gap by being a part of SAA, even just a little!
What BU traditions do you enjoy?
One of my favorite traditions I enjoy is the Boston University seal. Many students take pictures with their cap and gown after they graduate! However, there is a rumor that those who step on the seal before they graduate, will not graduate in 4 years. I have known some people who did step on the seal before they graduated and instead, graduated in 5 years!
