James Kang (COM’14, Questromᴳ’20)

An Iowa native, James graduated from BU College of Communication with a Bachelor of Science in mass communication with a concentration in advertising. Upon graduation, he stayed in Boston and began his marketing/advertising career at Havas Media, a media advertising agency, working for clientele including McDonald’s, Fidelity Investments, and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
James would later return to Boston University working as an account manager within the University’s in-house creative agency within the central Marketing & Communications department, at which point he also pursued his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at BU Questrom School of Business’ Part-Time Evening MBA program (PEMBA), concentrating in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, as well as Strategy. Currently, he works across the Charles River in Cambridge at Philips in their Global Health Systems Marketing Center of Excellence as a Sr. Manager, Global Digital Strategy & Deployment within the Digital team.
Outside of work, James is most likely to be found right back at BU, either collaborating with the Boston University Bands program on alumni programming as a cofounder of the Boston University Bands Alumni Network (BUBAN), advising the newest generation of brothers within his Fraternity’s chapter at BU, Kappa Kappa Psi – National Honorary Service Fraternity for College Bandmembers as their sponsor, playing as an alumnus and community member of the Boston University Concert Band, or dancing on the jumbotron and cheering on the BU Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Teams as a season ticket holder.
