Charina Ortega (ENG’16)

Charina is a Senior Manager of Cell Process Development and Operations at Sigilon Therapeutics, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly. She has worked at various biotechnology companies in R&D roles across Cambridge, with a key focus on droplet-based microfluidics. At BU, she was an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Dominguez Laboratory at BUMC (Protein Kinase CK2) and worked in the Wilson Wong Lab for her Senior Design (Dimerizable Split Protein Systems). She enjoys running, playing and watching soccer, and baking. She lives in Brighton, MA with her fiancé Marshall (also a BU alum) – they had met at the BU Pub during Senior Week!
