Allen Wan (CAS’90)

Allen Wan is Bureau Chief at Bloomberg News in Shenzhen. He has been in China for 13 years and was previously Deputy Bureau Chief in Shanghai. Besides writing, editing and commenting on global affairs for Bloomberg TV, Allen creates TikTok-type news videos for various social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook. The New York native graduated cum laude in political science from Boston University and received a masters in foreign affairs from Georgetown University as well as a juris doctorate from Rutgers Law School-Newark. He is also the former Asia bureau chief for CBS MarketWatch in Tokyo and a former correspondent for Reuters in Hong Kong, China and Tokyo. He has also taught at Fudan and Jiaotong universities.
