Kelly Pesanelli PT, MS is a Senior lecturer in Boston Universities Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in both the Health Sciences and Human Physiology Programs. She started at BU in CGS and went on to complete her undergraduate and graduate studies in Sargent. She began her career as a Physical Therapist specializing in outpatient orthopedics/occupational medicine before joining the faculty at Sargent College full time ten years ago.
She currently teaches The Organization and Delivery of Health Care in the United States which is a required course for almost every undergraduate student in Sargent College and places seniors in the Health Sciences and Human Physiology programs in their required internships during their senior year. Her professional area of research includes assessing the social determinants of health in the custodial workforce and the prevention of occupational injuries.
In addition to teaching full-time, she also directs an injury prevention program for all Boston University Employees. She has been the President of the Sargent College Alumni Association for 6 years and also has a son who is a sophomore in the Questrom School of Business and a member of the BU division 1 Men’s Lacrosse team.
