Qi Gong (MET’16)
Zither Musician

Qi Gong is a Gu Zheng (Chinese zither) musician and a member of the Gu Zheng Professional Committee of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society. She also serves as the deputy director of the Science and Arts Professional Committee of the Shanghai Mineral Fossil Association. Qi Gong holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Music Performance from the China Conservatory of Music, as well as a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Boston University. She has earned numerous accolades in prestigious competitions, including the Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music and the “Dunhuang Cup” Gu Zheng Competition. Qi has performed solo recitals and ensemble concerts at renowned venues such as the National Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Art Center, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Venetian Theatre in Macao, Harvard University, and Pratt Institute. During her time in the United States, she was invited to teach courses in Gu Zheng performance and Chinese music theory in New York City.
