Who is Kennedy?

Kennedy Williams (CAS‘23) grew up in Connecticut, within driving distance of BU. A self-proclaimed Hamilfan, Kennedy loves musical theater. She is also a cheerleader, activist, and aspiring cellular biologist. A scholarship to BU made it possible for Kennedy to explore her many interests free from financial stress.

What is she up to now?

Kennedy is a biology major and French minor in the College of Arts and Sciences. From the moment she arrived at BU, Kennedy hit the ground running; she’s always trying to find new ways to explore her varied interests both on and off-campus. At BU, Kennedy is part of BU’s Division I Cheerleading team and an active member of the Black Student Union UMOJA, Sisters United, HerCampus, and the Women’s Network. And while that might seem like a lot to anyone else, Kennedy couldn’t let herself stop there. As she will tell you, her ambition is only matched by her care for others. Last year, Kennedy’s activism reached new depths when she organized one of the largest Black Lives Matter marches in Connecticut.

What’s next?

After she graduates, Kennedy plans to attend medical or graduate school to pursue a specialization in molecular and cellular genetics. Without a scholarship to BU, said Kennedy, she never would’ve been able to go to BU, enjoy her college experience, or have so many new experiences without experiencing significant financial strain.

“I am really proud of the life I’ve created for myself at BU.”
