Who is Araceli?

Araceli Bridget Corley (CAS ‘23) is from Queens, New York. She is an avid reader with a passion for travel, cooking, and baking. Araceli is also an Irish Citizen, with her father immigrating from Ireland and her mother immigrating from Peru. Through experiencing all kinds of cuisines, she enjoys learning about different cultures. Since she’s been at BU, she has appreciated the kindness of students and faculty and loves how campus has never felt closed off from Boston. A scholarship to BU made it possible for Araceli and her family to have peace of mind when going to college out of state.

What is she up to now?

Araceli is studying computer science in the College of Arts and Sciences. Her greatest learning experience in class has been developing her voice through writing and discussions. And outside of class, Araceli puts her voice to good use by getting involved with BU events about diversity and inclusion. She’s also taking advantage of BU’s international reputation by making connections across multiple different industries.

What’s next?

After graduation, Araceli wants to pursue a career in computer science and technology. Someday, she hopes to get a job at a big company such as Google or Amazon. Since coming to BU, Araceli has been thankful to connect and interact with dedicated faculty. She’s receiving a top-quality education with study abroad options, and that, she says, wouldn’t have been possible without the help of a scholarship.

“Thank you for your generosity because your gift has opened a path for me that my family wouldn’t have been able to provide.”
