Our bi-weekly newsletter is going on hiatus for the summer. We’ll be back in August with more details about our upcoming Alumni Weekend. While we’re on vacation, consider giving yourself a break and checking out some of our recommendations below.
Listen
“Summer is such a musically inspired season,” says School of Music director Gregory Melchor-Barz.
In his Summer Classical Break playlist, Melchor-Barz highlights great composers like Mendelssohn and Musgrave, artists like Leontyne Price and Deanna Durbin, and Orchestras like the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Les Arts Florissants. This playlist is best enjoyed in the late evening, preferably while sitting on your back porch sipping a chilled glass of ice tea.
Music by BU Alumni, a collection of songs written and/or performed by BU alumni, contains music from around the world. Uzo Aduba, Aesop Rock, Emma Jayne, and Joan Baez are only a few of the former Terriers featured on this playlist. Whether you prefer pop, rock, or Latin music, it’s safe to say this eclectic mix has something for you to enjoy.
