In this video sent from his home in Amman,  Jordan, Omar Ali (ENG’96) describes the challenges he faced in helping lead Petra Engineering Industries Co., which designs and manufactures specialized air conditioning equipment, through a total shutdown—a challenge made all the more difficult in a culture that values close social contact. Now that operations have resumed, he and his team are developing new products to help mitigate virus transmission risk.
