Prerequisites: (CASMA541) AND (CASMA542) or equivalent, or consent of instructor. – Basic properties of groups, rings, fields, and modules. Specific topics include the Jordan-Holder and Sylow theorems, local rings, theory of localization, modules over PIDs, and Galois theory.
