Explores the impact of the “Enlightenment” invention of the autonomous self, its manifestation as AI, liberty and the idea of progress on the future of humanity in dialogic relationship with spiritually grounded Enlightenments such as Asian Buddhism. Effective Spring 2021, this course fulfills a single unit in each of the following BU Hub areas: Historical Consciousness, Philosophical Inquiry and Life's Meanings.
