Athenian comedy and tragedy through texts and selected vases. Considers relation/difference between visual and textual evidence, 5th c. Athens and later, Italian vases, and tragedy/comedy. Students prepare a particular pot for presentation. Readings in translation; meets periodically at the MFA.
