Please note: All deadlines reflect the due date for a complete application. This includes submission of all required materials, such as transcripts and letters of recommendation, by the stated deadline.
Master’s & Certificate Deadlines
Spring 2026
- International applicants: November 1, 2025
- Domestic applicants: December 15, 2025
Please note, BU Wheelock’s TESOL, MS in Child Life & Family-Centered Care, and EdM in Counseling programs do not accept applications on a rolling basis and only enroll in the fall semester.
Fall 2026
Priority Deadline
- January 15, 2026 – Applications submitted by this date will receive priority consideration for admission and scholarship.
You can submit your application after January 15, following the final deadlines below.*
Program-Specific Deadlines:
- Sport Counseling (EdM): February 1, 2026
- Child Life & Family-Centered Care (MS): February 1, 2026
- Mental Health & School Counseling (EdM): March 15, 2026
All remaining Master’s and Certificate programs:
- International Applicants: July 1, 2026
- Domestic Applicants: August 1, 2026

*Applications completed after the priority deadline will be considered for admission on a space-available basis. Scholarships will be awarded after the priority deadline based on availability at the time of review.
Doctoral Deadlines
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
To apply to the PhD in Counseling Psychology & Applied Human Development or the PhD in Educational Studies, please note the following deadlines below.
- Application opens: August 15, 2025
- Deadline: November 15, 2025
All application materials, including transcripts and letters of recommendation , must be received by November 15. Incomplete applications after this deadline will not be considered.
Doctor of Education (EdD)
EdD in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies
Priority Deadline – February 15, 2026
Executive EdD in Higher Education: The EdD in Higher Education program only admits a new cohort every other calendar school year.
The new application will open in August 2026 for Fall 2027.

Decision Timeline
BU Wheelock releases admissions decisions about eight weeks after receiving a completed application and after the program-specific deadline has passed.
During summer (around mid-May to early September) and winter breaks (around mid-December to mid-January), your application may take longer to review. Consider applying during the academic year to receive a quicker response.
For priority consideration for admission and scholarship funding, we strongly encourage you to submit your application by the recommended deadline.
Cutoff Application Dates
Although many graduate programs at BU Wheelock accept applications on a rolling basis, we stop accepting Boston Campus program applications six weeks before classes begin.
