Academic Departments

Health Sciences (nutrition, public health, & premed programs)

Our largest department offers the broadest range of programs, courses, and research opportunities, leaving your career possibilities in clinical practice, research, and industry wide-open. Where you’ll go with the strong scientific foundation you’ll build here — on to medical school or into nutrition, neuroscience, public health, or private industry, to name just a few — is up to you.

Occupational Therapy

The Sargent College occupational therapy program is ranked # 2 in the nation. Promoting the health, well-being, and quality of life of people with disabilities, our range of programs and clinical placements will prepare you for roles in traditional settings and newly emerging areas of need. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate daily with faculty who are leaders in their fields.

Physical Therapy & Athletic Training

You can combine your interests in health care and physical activity in either of these rewarding fields. Our goal: promote the health of all people, prevent injury, and rehabilitate those with impairment or disease. Our interdisciplinary approach includes coursework in basic and applied sciences, real-world research opportunities and custom-tailored clinical placements. You’ll learn from faculty members who are clinical specialists at the top of their professions.

Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences

The processes of communication are essential to virtually every human activity. By gaining in-depth knowledge of these fundamentals and their cognitive components, you can prepare for a career in speech-language pathology or audiology. Or, you can use your background in the communication processes and basic sciences to enter many related fields, from education to public health to law.
