Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) Request: Outgoing MTAs

New: NIH policy on Enhancing Security Measures for Human Biospecimens, NIH- NOT-OD-25-160, effective October 24, 2025, prohibits an entity (eg., biorepository, institution, investigator) that holds human biospecimens of U.S. persons collected, obtained, stored, used, or distributed using on-going or new NIH funds from directly or indirectly distributing the human biospecimens to institutions or parties located in countries of concern (presently including China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela). The MTA Request Form has been revised to include questions to determine whether your requested MTA material is subject to this NIH policy.

BU encourages researchers to exchange non-hazardous or non-human research materials for nonprofit, basic research purposes without a formal legal agreement, when practicable. If you are unsure whether an MTA is needed, please review the information under Outgoing Material Transfer Agreements.
