Cheng’s abstract states, “My undergraduate research project focuses on comparative studies on Japan and China’s nation-branding agenda through revitalizing and promoting their cultural heritage to the world, in which I will also discuss the political and economic correlations with cultural nation-branding. Both countries’ cultural promotions towards global audiences showcase certain diplomatic agenda and economic incentive, yet two models received difference feedbacks and recognitions from the West due to various reasons. The content of the project contains three main body parts: Japan and China’s cultural promotion through global exhibitions, tourism, and performing arts.”

We are proud to have Ziling join the WLL community as she focuses her research on Japan and China!
