Boston University has a long tradition of translation that dates back nearly forty years. Since 1981, the BU Translation Seminar has been offered every spring, featuring lectures by prominent literary translators. Translation classes and workshops are also offered in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Arabic, Korean, and Spanish. The University sponsors annual translation prizes and a considerable number of BU faculty practice translation themselves.
