Professor Roberta Micallef has also published a collection of essays in Illusion and Disillusionment, Travel Writing in the Modern Age. This publication aims to make an intervention in the diverse world of travel studies and focuses on travelers and their writing. The essays range from eighteenth to twentieth century writing and includes stories from East Asian, European, Middle Eastern and South Asian travelers exploring the globe.
