Sarah Frederick Has Translated Yoshiya Nobuko’s influential Flower Stories

MLCL’s own Sarah Frederick  has just published the first translation into English of a story from Yoshiya Nobuko’s influential Flower Stories (Hanamonogatari), “Yellow Rose” (1923). As the extensive introduction shows, this author and this series of emotional stories has been influential in Japanese girls’ culture, including contemporary shojo anime and manga. With hopes of reaching a wider audience and for convenient classroom use the story is available in electronic format (readable on any device using free Kindle software)
